After having babies who are now independent teenagers, I'm painting again full time and loving being in my studio every day. I love paint, I love colour. The paintings I'm making are emerging from my subconscious. Sometimes I give myself a limited palette of colours to work with, other times I let loose and put random colours on the board and perhaps paint maybe 20 different layers before scratching, rubbing and sanding away to reveal elements of an earlier painting. I work with acetate and masking tape giving me sharp lines which contrast with the scritchy scratchy marks. I also use clear gesso and high gloss medium to accentuate different areas of the painting. My titles come from the music I'm listening to or things that are happening right now as I paint.
